Speaking to the Quran TV on the sidelines of the 35th International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall), Mohsen Bandpey said the contest for the visually-impaired, will have a section for women as of next year.
This is the second year the international Quranic event for the visually-impaired is being held alongside the main competition in Tehran.
According to Bandpey, it is aimed at promoting the Quranic culture among the visually-impaired.
Iran’s 35th International Quran Competition began in the Iranian capital on Thursday.
Attended by some 250 contestants from 84 countries, it will conclude on Wednesday.
It is being held in five sections, including those for men, seminary students and visually-impaired.
